Now that Christmas has passed, it is time to focus on the new year and if you're planning to celebrate 2021, Pasco Fire Department has some reminders. When it comes to lighting up the new year by sparking up some fireworks, those flames can cause damage if you aren't careful. Make sure to set off fireworks in a clear area, have water nearby to soak them after you light them off, and check with your cities local ordinance to make sure they're allowed. "We are still asking people to be cautious and know that fires can start in the middle of winter, so be careful where you set them, be careful what you do with the ones after you set them off, dispose of them properly and safely," said Ben Shearer from the Pasco Fire Department.
