A man and woman were found dead in a mobile home that caught fire Sunday night in East Olympia, officials said.
Crews responded to the scene, in the 3500 block of 83rd Avenue SE, at about 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames at the residence, said Lt. Ray Brady of the Thurston County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters with the East Olympia Fire Department recovered two people from the home as they battled the flames. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims, a 79-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were related and both resided at the residence, Brady said.
Sheriff's detectives responded to the site after the flames were extinguished and are expected to return again Monday morning to continue the investigation.
The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
The victims' cause of death will be determined by the Thurston County Coroner's Office.
