Police and firefighters are in Pasco at the Loyalty Inn investigating reports of an explosion in a room of the hotel located at 1800 W Lewis Street. According to Deputy Chief Ed Dunbar with the Pasco Fire Department, the explosion happened around 5:15 a.m. inside the bathroom of a room. There was no fire after the explosion. Two people were in the room at the time and were not injured. There was damage to the room. “Some combustible materials blew up in a bathroom as a result of activity by the room occupants. There was property damage but no reported injuries. Police will be investigating whether the activity was legal or not,” Pasco police wrote in an email to KAPP-KVEW. No arrests have been made yet and the exact cause is still under investigation.
