The Spokane Valley Fire Department extinguished a mobile home fire around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. The department said no one was inside when it started. It sparked on the 17000 block of 5th Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Twelve units responded to the fire, including engines from Spokane Fire District 8, according to a press release. The cause of the fire is under investigation. SVFD said no one was injured. The department did share a reminder that people should check their smoke detectors when they change their clocks during daylight saving time in March.
