The Bainbridge Island Fire Department has inked a new contract for Fire Chief Hank Teran. The board of commissioners for the fire department recently approved an updated employment agreement with Teran, and the new contract will run through Dec. 31, 2024. The board of commissioners last approved a contract renewal for the chief in December 2016. That five-year agreement was set to run through February 2022. The new agreement extends the contract term for another two years. “I’ve been fortunate enough to be a member of the community as a fire chief since 2007,” Teran said. “And I consider it an honor and privilege to continue to serve the community and the men and women of the Bainbridge Island Fire Department.”
