Firefighters from across the Tri-Cities are raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ahead of the Seattle Stairclimb.
The Pasco Fire Department has teamed up with other departments and districts to collect funds for the cause. For many of them, they have a personal stake in the charity.
“It means we’re helping someone,” said Ty Schoenwald, a Pasco firefighter. “We’ve had a few people that we’ve known personally that have been affected by leukemia and so for me it’s a really cool way to give back.”
On Saturday, Pasco and Franklin County District #3 firefighters will be at Yoke’s on Road 68 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. They’ll be back out on Sunday, but they’ll also have people at the Richland Gold’s Gym starting at 8 a.m.
