A Chelan County firefighter was found dead off Blewett Pass after she was buried in snow that had fallen from a roof. Chelan County Fire District 3 said Kimiko Nalle, 46, was found buried in snow when crews responded to the incident at 3:45 p.m. Thursday. Attempts to revive her were not successful. Nalle was a 26-year employee of the US Forest Service and 17-year volunteer firefighter with Chelan County Fire District 6. She served on Incident Management Teams and Fire Prevention Teams, contributing to community protection across the country. Nalle is survived by her husband, Dave Nalle, deputy chief and fire marshal for Chelan County Fire District 3 in Leavenworth. “Her loss is felt deeply by the fire and emergency services community,” Chelan County Fire District 3 said in a Facebook post.
