A large fire destroyed a West Richland home, boat and vehicle Monday morning, according to Benton County Fire District 4.
Firefighters responded to a fire that started in the garage of a home on the 5600 block of W. Lattin Rd. near Keene Road at 9:41 a.m. When they arrived, the fire had overtaken the garage and spread to the home.
Fire Capt. Bonnie Benitz said a female was inside when the fire when it broke out. She escaped safely prior to crews’ arrival.
Benitz confirmed that the structure, boat and vehicle are a total loss. The cause is under investigation.
As of 11 a.m., the fire is under control and firefighters are still putting it out.
