For the third in the last week, Washington health officials reported over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases during a one-day period.
The Washington Department of Health said there are 1,101 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total to 41,757. The state's death toll due to the virus is 1,399, according to newly released numbers.
Washington has confirmed over 1,000 new coronavirus cases three times in just the past seven days. Over the weekend the state reported 1,438 new COVID-19 cases.
Health officials said there was 1,087 new coronavirus cases July 6, which shattered the previous single-day record at the time.
There have been 708,274 people tested for COVID-19 in the state, according to the Washington Department of Health. A positive test has occurred 5.9 percent of the time.
