Clallam County Fire District 3 has been given a financial clean bill of health from state officials.
Officials announced Tuesday that the fire district has passed its 2018-19 state audits with no findings.
The audits, conducted by the Office of the Washington State Auditor, included both an accountability and a financial audit. “The accountability audit is comprehensive, closely examining areas that represent the highest risk of fraud, loss, abuse, or noncompliance,” Fire District 3 officials stated this week.
The auditor, fire district officials said, examined the following areas during this audit period: Accounts payable (general disbursements and credit cards); tracking and monitoring of theft for sensitive assets, such as fuel; and payroll.
