The Washington State Department of Health reported on Sunday a total of 455 new confirmed cases of coronavirus and 5 new fatalities over the past 24 hours.
The new cases bring the total of confirmed cases around the state to 28,680 and the number of deaths to 1,270.
King County continues to have the highest number of coronavirus cases with a total of 9,211 confirmed cases, 1,732 hospitalizations, and 600 confirmed deaths. On Friday, King County was approved to move to Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s phased reopening plan.
Under the phase 2 guidelines, the county can now offer indoor dining at 50% occupancy and social distancing. It also relaxes rules for retailers, fitness facilities, barbershops, and pet groomers.
Yakima County has the second highest number of coronavirus cases with a total of 6,283 confirmed cases, 455 hospitalizations, and 138 deaths.
