A family of seven is safe after a fire blazed through their home early Monday morning.
Around 12:47 a.m., a single story house caught fire near Cottonwood Springs Blvd. and Kase Blvd.
According to Benton County Fire District 1, the fire started in the garage and extended into the attic.
The family, including five kids, was woken up by smoke alarms and were able to get out safely before fire crews arrived. However, their home was completely destroyed by the fire, along with their three cars in front of their residence.
Richland and Kennewick Fire were also on scene assisting.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
