Fire fighters from Richland, Pasco and Kennewick grabbed their gear and climbed Badger Mountain for a good cause on Sunday.
A post on the Richland Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page states that the Annual Leukemia and Lymphoma Society stair climb in Seattle was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Facebook post states, " The climb, and the cause, are extremely important to us."
Fire fighters from the Tri-Cities wanted to honor their commitment to the climb and teamed up to climb Badger Mountain this morning.
Fire fighters say it might not have been 69 flights of stairs but it was challenging.
The Facebook post said, "A huge THANK YOU to everyone around the community that has supported us during our fundraising and training for the climb. Your donations are helping to find cures for all blood cancers!"
