The City of Bainbridge Island Emergency Operations Center is continuing to support the needs of our health care workers during the COVID-19 outbreak and is seeking protective equipment donations from the community for these efforts. Supplies are limited due to impacts on manufacturing and the increase in global demand. Through the Emergency Operations Center, we have already provided protective equipment and cleaning supplies for Bainbridge Pediatrics, Bainbridge Island Senior Living, and Helpline House but more items are needed to continue this support for our community. Specific items that are needed immediately to ensure the safety of our health care workers and their patients: N95 respirators (a respiratory protective device designed to achieve a very close facial fit and very efficient filtration of airborne particles); Surgical masks; Safety goggles; Medical gowns; and Face shields.
