Hospitals across the state are short on personal protective equipment, but so are local fire crews. Pasco Fire Department explains they’ve been using medical supplies faster than predicted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ben Shearer from the Pasco Fire Department tells Action News the equipment is in high demand and there is only so much being made. "It takes a lot of time to get resources as those are manufactured as fast as those manufactures can make them, especially the masks since they're so many people in the general public wearing masks," said Shearer. The region is in need of N-95 masks, disinfecting wipes, face shields, hand sanitizer, gloves, and gowns.
