Two women were saved in an hours-long rescue after they fell into the Snoqualmie River Monday evening.
Rescue crews were originally called around 8 p.m. for a report that one woman slipped and fell into the Middle Fork of the river, according to Capt. Steve Johnson with Eastside Fire & Rescue. Once they arrived, they learned two gone into the river.
One woman was found roughly 30 minutes later. The second woman was located about an hour after that out of the river, but in a difficult rescue spot, fire officials said.
It took rescue crews until just before 11 p.m. before that woman could be brought to safety. Both victims were being checked my medics but Johnson didn't have any details about their condition.
It has been a very busy spring for water rescues in eastern King County. A 27-year-old man drowned in the Green River Gorge on Monday and another pair of women fell into the same river on Saturday. One of those women survived, but the other was killed.
