When firefighters got to the scene, the apartment was fully engulfed in flames. The suspect’s step- mother said the girl started the fire by lighting a gas can. According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the girl was missing, then came back to the apartment and started the fire in retaliation after being disciplined by her parents. According to the step-mother, the girl’s phone was taken away six months ago, which may have prompted the outburst. She is not the same teen reported missing by Spokane Police over the weekend.
