Two Orondo firefighters, Scott Poirier and Jonathan Goettling, completed firefighting school and recently took the oath along with receiving department badges.
“Firefighting school is a complex, 18-day school consisting of structure fire training, including textbook and live fire training, hands on nozzle work, ventilation and firefighting skills,” said Chief Jim Oatey.
Poirier is a retired school superintendent and Goettling has recently moved to the area.
The firefighting school was conducted in conjunction with Chelan County Fire District 1.
