Three pets were killed and three are missing after a home was destroyed by fire Thursday morning in Marysville. Firefighters responded to the blaze on 123rd Place NE at around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the house. Fire officials say the home had working smoke alarms and as a result all eight residents there were able to escape without injury. However, two pet dogs and a cat were found dead inside the home. The fire was eventually brought under control and extinguished, but the home is considered a total loss. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting the eight displaced residents find temporary housing.
