After 30 years of service to the community, Firefighter Greg Wilson worked his final shift over the weekend, according to the Bellevue Fire Department. Hired in early 1991, Wilson completed his probation, and his first permanent assignment was at Fire Station 5. According to the department, this was followed by a long-term assignment at Station 2. Wilson was one of the first members of Light Force 3 when it initially went into service at Station 3, and he spent many years there honing his technical rescue skills. Wilson's final assignment was Station 4, where he said goodbye to his Bellevue fire family Saturday morning. Wilson was a proud member of the department's distinguished Honor Guard for many years, participating in numerous ceremonies. "Greg's service was characterized by the true empathy and compassion he showed to members of our community who were struggling or in need. We wish Greg the best of luck in this new chapter!" the fire department posted on its official Facebook page.
