Law enforcement officials are investigating after a man's body was found by crews fighting a brush fire.
Officials say firefighters responded to the blaze off of U.S. Highway 12 west of Naches at about 6:15 p.m. Monday.
As crews fought the blaze, they discovered a man's body within a burned area of brush, prompting them to notify the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say the body was severely burned, making identification difficult.
Officials said the man appears to be about 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
Investigators also say a cause of death could not be determined, and they don't know yet if the man died as a result of the fire, or if he was dead before it started.
The fire burned less than an acre, and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office says its cause cannot be firmly determined.
