Police say a bicyclist was killed when he was hit by a semitruck in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. Officers and Seattle Fire medics were called to the intersection of South Michigan Street and Corson Avenue South at 5 p.m. The victim, a man about 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the U.S. Postal Service truck was stopped at the intersection facing northbound waiting to make a right turn eastbound. As the driver waited at the light, a bicyclist who had also been heading northbound pulled in front of the semitruck, apparently out of view of the driver. When the truck moved forward to turn right, the bicyclist was hit and killed.
