As of Sunday morning, the Schneider Springs fire has burned an estimated 101,633 acres, and remains at 17% containment.
Despite increased winds from a frontal passage, cooler temperature and higher relative humidity is expected to result in minimal fire behavior today, according to the incident management team. Fire officials say priorities today include establishing an effective fire line north of Lost Creek (using the 1709 and 1706 road system), hoselays and fuel reduction work around structures in preparation for fire threat in the Cliffdell and Lost Creek communities, and establishing a fuel break to the west of the Goose Prairie area.
