Local fire officials say homeowners in they Valley need to be prepared now more than ever as we enter wildfire season.
They also say despite the lack of warm weather we have been seeing, there is actually more concern to be had.
Nathan Craig, fire chief for the West Valley Fire Department, says “this time most years we’re already starting to dry out, but we’re still growing.” And “So if we continue with this weather pattern, when it gets hot and we still have a lot of wind- we could have potential for some really bad fires this season.”
That is why local fire departments are pushing for local homeowners to sign up for the Wildfire Ready Neighbors Program. Through this, you can set up an inspection with a firefighter and they will tell you what changes you can make to your home so you are prepared for wildfires.
