Two people are in the hospital after a house fire in Yakima. One man suffered burn injuries and a woman was transported with smoke inhalation. The fire was on the 500 block of N 22nd Avenue around 2:45 p.m., according to the Yakima Fire Department.
The fire is now out, according to crews on scene. The Yakima Fire Department reports that the fire was contained before it could spread to any other structures. The inside of the house and attic were damaged. The man was outside of the house when firefighters arrived. It is reported that the woman went into the house after the fire started.
According to the Yakima Fire Department, the damage from the fire is estimated at $180,000. The cause of the fire is unknown.
