VIDEO: The Three Rivers Fire burning near Ruidoso is holding steady at 12,000 acres as of Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday the fire doubled in size from 6,100 that morning to 12,000 that evening. But Wednesday's moisture in the area has helped crews fighting the blaze. The fire is currently 5 percent contained, as of Wednesday evening. Fire crews from all over New Mexico, including from the states of Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, among others are coming in to help tackle the flames. The Ruidoso Convention Center is being transformed into the incident command center for fire personnel. Earlier Tuesday officials lifted an evacuation order for some of the areas impacted by the blaze. Officials warn that this is subject to change due to fire and activity levels. The Three Rivers Fire started burning Monday morning and quickly swelled from 30 acres that morning to 4,000 acres that afternoon.
