VIDEO: Fire fighters responded to the Embers apartment complex early Sunday morning at 4:18 to a blaze on South Business Drive in Sheboygan, a fire that killed one adult, no further details have been released. It took fire fighters around thirty minutes to get the fire under control, although they battled spot fires well into Sunday morning. "I'd say based on the fact that we lost a person and the amount of extensive damage, I'd say it was a pretty extensive fire," said Sheboygan Battalion Fire Chief Keith Risse. "The north building is very likely that it is a total loss." Fire fighters were called in from the Town of Wilson, Kohler and all around the area, local Police also responded to the scene. Andrew Aguilar lives in the apartment complex that used to be a motel, he was listening to music when heard a crackle and went outside to investigate. According to Aguilar he dialed 9-1-1 after he saw that the flames extended onto a nearby car from the house and then he sprang into action. "I started knocking on doors, getting everybody out is a main concern of safety," said Aguilar. "I mean I got my cousin right next door that lives with her baby." The state fire marshal is investigation the cause of the fire which is unknown at this time. The Red Cross showed up to take the dozens of people displaced by the fire to a shelter at Farnsworth Middle School. "They had to leave the apartment building immediately so many of them left without a shirt and without medications they needed," said Steve Hansen of the American Red Cross.
