Emergency responders from across Portage County came together in the spirit of competition around Salvation Army Red Kettles for the annual Portage County Public Safety Challenge. Several county agencies compete to see who can gather the most money. "We're very fortunate that we're able to live and work in a community that is so generous," Stevens Point Fire Chief Bob Finn said. Firefighters from Stevens Point and their families sang carols outside of Mill's Fleet Farm, while representatives from the Sheriff's Office used a squad car to attract donations at Copps.
