VIDEO: Three best friends putting out an ice fishing shelter isn't an uncommon sight in Northcentral Wisconsin, but it's something angler Jared Kiepke knows can turn dangerous quickly. He doesn't like fishing alone because "It's pretty boring alone and it's a lot more dangerous," said Kiepke. That's why the Wausau Fire Department trained for hours Wednesday afternoon in the cold waters of the Wisconsin River. Around a dozen firefighters practiced different rescue maneuvers. "Always make sure someone knows where you're at and a time-frame for how long you'll be out there," said Wausau Firefighter and EMT Tim Bingham.
