A fire damaged a home in Sun Prairie Wednesday afternoon according to the Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters were called to a home in the 900 block of Katherine Drive just after 4:30 p.m. Fire officials said when crews arrived on scene, they found an active fire in the laundry room area. The homeowner who was home at the time of the fire escaped with her cats. There were no reports of injuries. Damage was estimated at $30,000.
