Two females were pulled from the Chippewa River by Eau Claire fire department personnel Saturday. The fire department received a report at 4:44 p.m. of two females nearly in the middle of the river behind the city shops at 910 Forest St. The department launched two boats and a firefighter in a cold-water rescue suit entered the water. The firefighter assisted both females, bringing one to shore while the other was picked up by one of the boats. The females, both residents of the Eau Claire Academy, were examined by fire department parametics and did not require transport to the hospital.
