Watertown Assistant Fire Chief Tim Gordon was found not guilty of obstructing a police officer after a lengthy trial in Lake Country Municipal Court on Friday. The municipal charge against Gordon was initiated by the city of Watertown and alleges he intentionally misrepresented an incident that occurred while he was on duty in March conducting a fire inspection. Because the case involved city employees, Municipal Judge Mark Sweet and City Attorney Will Gruber recused themselves and it was moved to Lake Country Municipal Court in Oconomowoc. Val Anderson, counsel for the city, argued that Gordon had intentionally made false statements in a police report regarding a verbal altercation he had with property owner Art Lenius during a fire inspection.
