VIDEO: In the past year Beloit Fire Department has responded to more than 400 calls compared to the previous year. Just last month, they saw a 100 call increase. The Beloit fire chief says aging baby boomers, flu season and people that may not have health insurance are all contributing factors to the spike in calls. The city has even had to rely on neighboring cities to help with aid. Responders are dispatched to every call. That's why the fire chief says it's important for people when dialing 911, determine whether it's truly an emergency.
