If the Nov. 14 referendum to raise $250,000 from the village levy to support 24-hour paramedic service from Paratech Ambulance Service fails, the village will move back to just 12-hour-a-day coverage. And the village will begin seeking “other options,” including joining up with neighboring communities to create a joint emergency medical service, according to a resolution approved by the village board’s finance committee on Oct. 26. “Combining would be the most logical thing to do,” said Village President Pat Kenny. However, he added that he supports voters approving the referendum question.
