VIDEO: Battling flames is a tough business, and now Bloomer firefighters have a way to do their jobs a little safer. The city of Bloomer now has its first rehab and medical trailer for firefighters. Bloomer Community Ambulance Administrator Mark Schwartz said the trailer is both heated and air conditioned to provide firefighters a safe place during emergencies, like a structure fire, or a natural disaster like the Chetek tornado last spring. It also gives personnel a place for any medical attention they might need while working, or for things like checking vital signs. It could also be used at community events as a command station for all local emergency personnel participating in the event.
