History comes alive along the Lakeshore. Finishing touches are being put on exhibits at the new Kewaunee Fire Museum. Just off the main road in downtown Kewaunee, a small concrete building sits next to the giant grandfather clock. Inside, is a trip back to beginning of Kewaunee Fire Department. "An 1884 hand-pumper. That's our first pumper we ever had," said Capt. Jim Kleiman, Kewaunee Fire Department. An eight-man crew pulled the cart to the fire, and then pumped water at the the rate of 120 gallons per minute. The 1890 reel cart could hold up to 700 feet of hose.
