Randy Banker, who became chief of the Janesville Fire Department in 2016, is officially the chief of the Milton and Milton Township Fire Department. Banker serving as the chief for two departments is the result of shared services. A transition team of consultants, fire department members and Janesville Fire Department members suggested the plan after the 2016 retirement of chief Loren Lippincott, who had served Milton part-time for nearly a decade. Banker met with the Milton Courier last week Thursday at the fire station in Milton to discuss where he’s from and where the fire department in Milton is heading.
