Two Verona men were charged Wednesday with arson after police said they admitted to setting fire to an abandoned farmhouse and setting off fireworks inside the home. Kyle D. Brazee and Evan R. Ruchti, both 18, were charged with arson for the July 4 fire that destroyed an abandoned house on Highway M, near Shady Bend Road and Liberty Drive. They were also charged with negligent handling of burning materials for a trash can fire at Veteran’s Park in Verona three days earlier. Brazee is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 2, while Ruchti is scheduled to appear on Monday.
