PHOTO: A south-side restaurant sustained significant damage from a fire Monday. At about 4:30 p.m., the Racine Fire Department responded to a call for a fire at Rosie’s restaurant, 1804 Taylor Ave. The fire did reach the second level of the building. Firefighters battled the blaze for more than three hours in below-zero temperatures until investigators could inspect the scene. Battalion Chief Don Cassel said the incident is still under investigation. “We still have some hot spots that we’re working on and once we get that taken care of, then the investigator will be able to make entry,” Cassel said Monday night. “We don’t have a cause or anything yet.”
