A home in Fond du Lac County sustained significant damage after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon. Crews were called to N828 Fond du Lac County V just before 1:15 p.m. after a passerby observed dark smoke and flames coming from the back of the home, according to a statement from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical related, according to the sheriff's office. No one was home at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured while extinguishing the blaze. The lower level of the home sustained significant damage during the fire. County V was closed between Haven Drive and Auburn-Ashford Drive for two hours as crews worked to put the fire out, the sheriff's office said.
