Rescue crews are searching for a missing swimmer in Lake Michigan near Warnimont Park in Cudahy.
The Cudahy and Milwaukee fire departments, along with the Coast Guard, are searching for a 19-year-old man who was last seen swimming in the area. Four people were swimming when the missing man went under the water and did not resurface, according to the Cudahy Fire Department.
One in the group ran up the bluff to call 911, firefighters said.
Cudahy firefighters received the call at 6:23 p.m., the chief said.
The U.S. Coast Guard and a number of surrounding dive teams and law enforcement responded to the scene.
The steep terrain made it difficult for first responders to arrive at the scene.
The chief called the area where the group was swimming "not a public beach by any means."
