VIDEO: No one was injured in an apartment fire Wednesday on Camp Phillips Road, authorities said. Crews responded just before noon to the two-story complex at 5910 Camp Phillips Road for a report of smoke coming from an air-conditioning unit, Everest Metro Police Sgt. Terry Peterson said. The eight-unit complex is at the intersection of Camp Phillips and Winding Ridge Way. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the fire, which extended to the roof, Peterson said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as authorities interview residents of the building. Camp Phillips Road remained closed shortly before noon from Schofield Avenue to East Everest Drive. In addition to Everest Metro Police, South Area Fire and Ambulance, Riverside Fire, Wausau Fire and Wisconsin Public Service also responded to the scene.
