Firefighters were dispatched to a garage fire along Parkview Drive just west of Eastgate Drive in Mequon on Thursday morning, Aug. 15.
Fire crews were called out shortly before 10:30 a.m.
Upon the arrival of firefighters, the garage was fully engulfed.
One person inside the home was able to get out safely, while another person was trapped and unable to exit. The person who initially got out went back inside, and firefighters had to rescue that person. The trapped individual was removed through a window -- and taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other person was also treated.
We Energies crews were called out to disable natural gas and electricity at the home.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
