Firefighters snuff attic fire in Bristol

Firefighters extinguished a small fire in a Bristol home’s attic Tuesday. According to a news release from Bristol Fire Chief John Niederer, the fire was reported at about 11:24 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 14100 block of 60th St. Bristol crews were dispatched along with neighboring companies via Automatic Aid because because Bristol first responders had been dispatched 13 minutes earlier to a medical call in the 18400 block of 120th St. A Pleasant Prairie engine was the first to arrive and reported nothing showing from the home’s exterior. Upon making entry in the attic area, firefighters found smoke and a small fire, which was promptly extinguished. Crews performed “an extensive overhaul of the attic space and adjacent areas,” and the Kenosha County Fire Investigation Task Force was requested to the scene.
