Wind gusts accompanying a blustery thunderstorm blew through the Kenosha area early Sunday morning, leaving authorities and residents picking up the pieces. A number trees were felled by micro-bursts of high winds as the storm front blew past, including some blocking intersections and others on porches or homes in the Kenosha community. There have been no reported injuries from the storm, and major damage appears to been mostly avoided. Law enforcement units were out checking a number of reports of low-hanging or disconnected utility service lines and poles. While We Energies reported scattered sites without power southeast of Green Bay and also east of Madison, it was the Kenosha area which bore the brunt of outages, primarily due to winds, falling limbs and trees down.
