Madison firefighters say an 8-year-old girl called 911 Monday night after her uncle became unresponsive behind the wheel. The car was headed westbound on the Interstate near the Beltline, according to Cynthia Schuster, a spokesperson for the Madison Fire Department. The little girl called 911 after her uncle swiped a guardrail and came to a stop on an off-ramp. The girl told dispatchers her uncle was not moving. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the driver outside the vehicle standing with Wisconsin State Patrol troopers. The man was alert but not answering questions appropriately, Schuster said. Paramedics said shortly after he was helped into an ambulance, he became unresponsive.
