The cause of an Aug. 26 Elmwood fire that left a home a complete loss is under investigation. Four fire departments responded to the fire at 138 W. Shaw Ave. around 11:30 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
Three children and one adult were safely evacuated from the home according to Elmwood Fire Chief Rob Bowen. He said it is unknown if any pets were in the house.
Elmwood, Spring Valley, Plum City and Ellsworth fire departments responded to the scene, tending to the incident for three hours.
Pierce County Highway Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Pierce County Sheriff’s Office aided fire crews on the scene.
