Drivers were asked to avoid High Point Road on Madison's west side following a crash Thursday. The crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. on the bridge of High Point Road, between Watts Road and D'onofrio Drive, according to a tweet by the Madison Fire Department. The Madison Fire Department said the crash involved multiple vehicles and that two people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be extricated from her vehicle. The Fire Department reports the bridge was very icy and that conditions in the area were dangerous.
