VIDEO: Ripon firefighters battled a massive house fire Friday on Cork Street Road in the Town of Ripon. Firefighters received the call just before 3:30 in the afternoon.
The fire department says it was initially told people were trapped inside the two-story home, but everyone got out safely.
The house was engulfed before fire crews were on the scene, which just north of the city limits.
More than 20 fire departments provided some aid.
Firefighters tell us there were concerns about the water supply and ammunition stored on the property.
Chief Tim Saul of the Ripon Fire Department said, "Obviously we're out in a rural area of our district. We had a very long hose lay, so we had a delay in getting water, and we also had between a delay in water, the collapse of the structure and how far the fire has already advanced on us. We also had a lot of ammunition going off in the basement, so we had to pull some of our guys back and that hindered our operation also."
