A Town of Sun Prairie family is facing extensive damage to their home after an early-morning fire Thursday. More than 10 fire and EMS departments fought the fire at 5332 Stark Road in the Town of Sun Prairie for more than three and a half hours early Thursday morning while overnight temperatures were in the single digits. Crews from Marshall EMS, Deer Grove EMS, Marshall Fire, Cottage Grove Fire, DeForest Fire, Truax Fire, Dane Fire, Columbus Fire, McFarland Fire and the Dane County Sheriff's Office helped the Sun Prairie Fire Department in fighting the fire. The Sun Prairie Fire Department says crews fought the fire from both inside and outside the building, but had to make a trench cut in the home's roof once the fire spread there.
